About
Hello! My name is Grace Anderson and I am a Creative Writing Student at Eastern Washington University (having transferred from UW of Seattle).
I am an avid reader and writer, and have a passion for me... ntal health advocacy, social justice, spending time and caring for others, and Guinea pigs.
My favorite part of tutoring is forming that essential bond between teacher and student. While it is extremely important to learn the lessons and achieve the goals set for tutoring, it is even more important that the student feels respected, heard, and that the student-tutor bond is a good fit. A student deserves a learning environment in which they may ask questions and feel seen by their instructor. This not only helps learners to engage with and absorb the material for long- term material acquisition, but also builds stepping stones for a love of learning, and more importantly, a respect for oneself and others.
As a tutor, I love to make my job fun, and strive to be a hard worker at everything I do. As a person, I make sure to enjoy the little things in life (i.e. spending time with my guinea pig, Honey, or grabbing coffee with friends), and add humor and joy to all aspects of life where I see fit.
Thank you for taking time to get to know a little more about me!
I look forward to getting in touch.
Grace Anderson
