Breaking News: Being a part of the news industry for over ten years, I learned to always operate under the assumption that I will be dropping everything to go on breaking news. Priorities can shift at any second, strategies can change at any time, developments can happen so I am always ready. I've covered homicides, shootings, stabbings, traffic accidents, hit-and-runs, stand-offs, fires, overdoses, traffic due to weather, deaths due to weather, and more. I learned my priorities when I arrive on a scene. I understand the most important information, video and interviews to bring to the public on social media and the web as soon as possible. I also learned the best ways to connect and work with law enforcement and fire officials doing their jobs on scene.
Digital, Social Media & Web: I played a pivotal role in the digital content strategy, leveraging various online platforms to disseminate news effectively. I managed the posting of timely and engaging content across our digital channels, ensuring the audience received breaking news and updates promptly. Social media became a powerful tool for information dissemination, and I actively engaged with the audience through platforms including TikTok, Instagram, Threads, X, Facebook, YouTube, Reddit, LinkedIn, and Quora. By monitoring social media trends, analyzing user interactions, and staying attuned to the pulse of the community, I was able to gather valuable insights that informed our news coverage decisions.read more

Mar 2018 - Nov 2023
During my fulfilling five-years as an private tutor, I had the privilege of connecting with and ment... oring a diverse cohort of students primarily in middle school and high school. Through personalized lesson plans and tailored syllabi, I endeavored to not only address their academic needs but also foster a supportive learning environment conducive to growth and success.
One of the defining aspects of my approach as a tutor was the emphasis on tailoring lesson plans and syllabi to suit each student's unique personality, academic standing, and learning ability. Recognizing that no two students are alike, I took the time to understand their individual strengths, weaknesses, and learning styles. This personalized approach allowed me to create customized learning experiences that resonated with each student, empowering them to maximize their potential and achieve academic excellence.

Witnessing their progress and growth, both academically and personally, was immensely gratifying and served as a testament to the transformative power of education.
Over the course of five years, I had the privilege of mentoring approximately 23 students, all of whom demonstrated significant growth in their grades and academic performance. Moreover, I am proud to share that many of my students successfully gained admission to their dream colleges, a testament to their hard work and dedication, as well as the support and guidance provided throughout our tutoring sessions.

Evening Anchor, Producer, Reporter
KCWY 13, Gray Television
Jan 2017 - Dec 2017
5:00 P.M., 6:00 P.M., & 10:00 P.M. Anchor, Producer & Reporter from Monday's to Friday's.
This was ... my first on-air job. I produced and anchored the 5:00 P.M., 6:00 P.M., and 10:00 P.M. newscasts Monday to Friday nights, while reporting on days that needed extra content. This opportunity allowed me to dive head-first into on-air presence. As an anchor, I wrote and proofread all my scripts before every newscast. I double-checked graphics for spelling errors, grammar mistakes, and overall flow. I rolled the teleprompter, learned how to react to video malfunctions, and picked up reads from co-anchors and reporters live in the field. I also learned to fill time, adlib and getting used to changes throughout the newscasts. As a producer, I learned to fill the time we had with flexibility, allowing the wiggle room to adjust for breaking news at any time. I also learned how to write teases, assigned stories to reporters with strong focuses, in addition to monitoring police scanners and social media pages for breaking news.read more
General News Assistant Intern
KCRA 3, Hearst Corporation
Jan 2016 - Jul 2016
General News Assistant Intern for KCRA 3, a top 20 market news station in the U.S.A.
Most of my int... ernship involved shadowing reporter and photographer crews out in the field. I shot, wrote, edited, and reported in all shifts throughout the day. Morning, dayside, and nightside. I learned to identify key characters and experts for each story, and how to conduct those interviews. I also learned that many times, you have to drop everything and go on breaking news, something that's engrained in my mind now. The breaking news I went on included shootings, traffic accidents and property crime. I also learned how to write and present a story about politics, education, or fun feature pieces.
I used ENPS to stack two intern newscasts, and anchored them as well. I also wrote bumps, teases, and tickers that went on air. For digital content, I turned my reporter scripts into web versions and posted them to the station website, X, and Facebook pages. I also found guests for 3 to 4 minute feature segments that the station anchors hosted every day. I monitored police scanners, the California Highway Patrol website and social media constantly for breaking news. I also helped with audio and checking video in the control room.read more

News Reporter
KDVS 90.3 FM
Jan 2015 - Jul 2015
General Assignment News Reporter for KDVS 90.3 F.M., my University's news radio station.
This is w... here I explored hard news reporting for the first time. During my senior year at the University of California, Davis, I reported on news that happened on campus. A few stories I investigated include sexual harassment claims from a sorority, a professor who was accused of favoritism, and a follow-up on the UC Davis Pepper Spray incident. This is where I learned to do research, pitch story ideas, develop relationships with community members, and track packages. Most importantly, I learned to fact check before putting anything on-air. I prepared questions, then organized and conducted interviews. I operated the control board and edited my projects using Adobe Audition. I broadcasted five-minute long news briefs weekly.read more
