About
Hello there,
I am Reda Rimi. I am from Morocco. The very country you can see across the mediterranean from Spain. I would testify before a court of law that my passions include reading, writing, swim... ming and playing chess. I think I am not sucessful in any of them, but they are still my hobbies. One shouldn't necessarily be Philips to swim upstream or be the likes of Hemingway to write a short story. Any healthy endeavor empowering the individual to survive on planet earth is worthy of trial.
What I admire most about tutoring is the mere fact that I have learnt from my students as much as they have from me. Learning is a collaborative journey not a one-way highway. Genuinely interacting with one another is paramount to learning. Plus, you never know who is the smartest one in an exchange until the exchange takes place. Students from all age-groups have quite often amazed me with their brilliant ideas and takes on any topic. Once, it dawned on me to handout a sheet asking students to list their favorite books not expecting much given their age, and --spoiler alert--I was bombarded with 40+ titles and authors some of which--honest before God-- never heard of and probably would have never heard of in my entire life. See how learning is a two-way tunnel. "No Longer Human" by Osamu Dazai is the one that have stuck with me the most eversince.
Maybe an adavantage maybe not, but I always find myself teaching through stories. If the lesson is about health and illnesses, instead of listing images and describing the illnesses from prompts, I would find myself indulging in " Shutter Island." All to cover concepts such as delusions and surviving mechanisms. Story-telling seems to me the best vehicle to speak, learn and most of all teach.read more
