I excelled in high school biology courses and received a 5 on the AP Biology exam. I graduated from high school in Bangor, Maine with a 4.2 GPA and went on to complete a summer research internship at ... the Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation studying cell cycle regulation in a cancer biology laboratory. I received my B.S. in biochemistry & molecular biology with minors in microbiology and French from Oklahoma State University in 2017. I graduated with a 4.0 GPA and an honors college degree. There, I took graduate-level independent study courses in current genetics research and worked as a research assistant studying the pathophysiology of myocardial infarction in the context of underlying diabetes. My research was published in the journal Frontiers in Physiology in 2019. I graduated from the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center with an M.D. in 2021. There, I performed at the top of my class and was elected to serve as the student chair for the Medical Education Curriculum Committee for three years. In addition to my regular coursework, I tutored a gross anatomy laboratory course for three months and assisted in teaching clinical skills workshops. Hello! My name is Dom and I am a medical school graduate with a passion for science education and medical science. I currently live in Stillwater, Oklahoma. In college I always performed well in my c... oursework and enjoyed giving mini lessons to fellow classmates. In medical school I took on an official role as an anatomy lab tutor and loved every minute of it. When teaching, I like to break complex subjects down into simpler parts while also focusing on the big picture. As a visual learner, I love to draw diagrams and graphs to explain challenging topics. One of my favorite parts of teaching is reaching that moment when a difficult concept finally clicks-- what a gratifying feeling!
