Dr.Gautreaux is one of the best teachers I have ever had. Her passion for her craft is very obvious due to her dedication, attention and ways of teaching. At the beginning of last year on my senior year my AP essays only got 3s or 4s but after her teaching I ended up having mostly all 5s including the sophistication point. Not only had she truly increased my scores but also my interest in the subject, especially poetry analysis. Thanks to her I will continue my studies in English Literature in college!

When I first saw the reading list for my Senior AP Literature class, I was certain I’d be miserable, but I was completely wrong! Every single book we’ve studied in this class has been so wonderful and engaging and I give all of the credit to Dr. Gautreaux. Even canon literature can feel like a beat down when you’re discussing it with a teacher that isn’t the right fit—I am so grateful I had the opportunity to read these iconic novels with a teacher so knowledgeable, well-spoken, and current. Dr. Gautreaux encourages us to think far beyond the text by exploring and considering each unique perspective brought in by her students. Her class has pushed me to become a better writer and reader because of the specific feedback she gives us on our essays and assignments. Anyone who gets the chance to discuss literature with Dr. Gautreaux is sure to learn something new and fascinating! She is a wonderful teacher!!
