It began with my teaching Medical Laboratory courses to Medical Laboratory Assistants, developed while homeschooling our s... even children, and became more focused with volunteer tutoring adult Americans who were illiterate; finally centered upon teaching/tutoring individuals from other countries of the world for whom English is their 2nd language. Presently, I am tutoring a 60 yr old adult lady from Kurdistan who is quite intelligent but illiterate in her native Kurdish while at the same time teaching in a traditional classroom with students and privately tutoring a young lady from Mexico who is in her second year of college. My passion is working with a student to assist them in identifying their goals, determin... ing which learning style works best with them, and then setting a date for reaching the student's goals, although with the understanding that frequently, goals must be adjusted depending upon the challenges that student might encounter in their learning journey. What fuels and sustains that passion is watching that student begin and continue to experience success in making progress towards their goals; and, sometimes even promotions on the job or a new career or graduation from high school or college - to know that I have helped someone get to a place they might not have reached but for my help.
