About
Hi! My name is Daniel. I have a fervent, burning passion for the English language. To me it is much more than a hobby, but it is, in a sense, that too. I derive much fulfillment and solace from the pl... easure writing gives me. But I also hope to make a good living from the teaching and tutoring of composition and rhetoric.
I love the language, and I like the idea that by sharing my knowledge with others I can help them achieve their goals in life. My teaching philosophy is this: to learn to write, one must write! To facilitate this, I would insist that my tutees bring whatever texts they are working on to our sessions. I would greet them warmly and have them read their text to me. Then I would grade it for errors and the go over each one in turn and ask, "How can we correct this?" or, "How can we make this better?" I would have them make the necessary corrections. At no time would I disparage or deride the tutee. Tutoring requires tact and encouragement.
I am a unique human being as is everyone. I am the first man in twelve generations of my family to graduate from college. I accomplished this despite much personal adversity. I cannot wait to put my skills and knowledge to work for you.read more
