I love teaching English as a Second Language. I first started in an 8th grade classroom. The students backgrounds included Dominican, Guatemalan, Indian, Nigerian, and Ghanaian. My favorite lesson to ... teach was contractions. Students learned a song for contracting words and a song for apostrophes. I have helped students learn and understand past tense, helped with reading aloud and comprehension questions. I volunteered as a teacher to teach kids and adults English. Lessons covered were past, present, and future tense. We worked on conversations with negative and positive responses. Hello!! My name is Vanessa Rivera. I am from Burlington, New Jersey and attend Rider University. I am currently an education student graduating in 2024 to be either a Spanish, Special Education, or ES... L teacher. I have always loved helping people learn, but I came to the realization that teaching was my calling once I officially became a tutor at my high school.
