I have been a Writing Consultant/Tutor for 3 years at Pace University's Learning Common. I have experience tutoring up to college level writing courses. I have several poetry publications through Chroma Literary Magazine, while maintaining a 4.0 GPA for my Literature and English courses throughout my undergraduate degree. The ability of a writing consultant to adapt their tutoring technique to the student is very significant in an academic setting considering the writing center receives students from all walks of life. It’s important for the consultant to listen to the student; What are the student’s concerns? Where does the confusion lie? How has their professor explained the assignment? By asking questions and engaging the student throughout the session, the tutor can further tailor their method to the student. My purpose is to help the student, to provide the student with a valuable session and give them the confidence they need to complete their assignment with ease (and future assignments as well). In my free time I like to play guitar, write poetry, and cook! My favorite dish is Tuscan Salmon. I am also a huge plant person, when I can manage to keep them alive.
