Stories are the basis of how we relate to each other and the world around us. I love to explore the stories that are meaningful to people and help others to understand why stories matter. Through un... derstanding the stories of others we come to better understand ourselves. With my background in theatre I make literature come alive and jump off the page for students. A student will understand the complexities of characters and be able to relate what they read to their own lives and experiences. My goal is to help students grow in empathy through comprehension of character and plot. I hold a Bachelors of Arts in Theatre from Hillsdale College, a prominent liberal arts college. I have studied many of the classics from throughout the western tradition and continue to deepen my own knowledge of them through robust discussion. Hello there! I am Trenton, a teacher, actor, and tutor. My passion in education is helping students learn how to connect with others through stories and shared experiences. Having traveled worldwide, teaching students from all walks of life, I have a wealth of experience to draw from and many strategies to tailor lessons to each student’s learning needs. I am pursuing a master’s degree in secondary education, focusing on theatre and literature. My theatre and performing arts background lends to my engaging and personable teaching style. Outside of tutoring, I enjoy reading fantasy literature, with my favorites being Lord of the Rings and Harry Potter. I also enjoy cooking and painting to help me unwind after a long day.
