About
I live in Tbilisi, Georgia, and work as a surgical nurse in a hospital, so most of my day is spent in practicing theoretical concepts learned in med school. My hobbies range all the way from science r... esearch to writing music and playing it on various instruments. One of the most useful passions of mine is etymology and linguistics. A fairly big amount of terminology in medicine is borrowed from Latin and greek. Understanding the origins and meanings of these words helps one remember them and understand their meaning better.
Growing up I encountered different types of teachers and often the affection or hatred towards a particular subject was heavily dependent on the approach of the tutor and the way they communicated the information. The subjects that I chose to teach are fairly complex and can't always be understood in one reading, that's why I want to help students grasp them with more reasonable and simple explanations. As Einstein said, if you can't explain it simply you don't understand it well enough.
My methods of teaching are individual for each student as no two students are the same just like no two patients are, and finding the way to get the information most understandably for that person is the best method I've found so far after years of teaching my peers. Coming up with creative ways to break things down is another trait of mine that I found surprisingly effective. It helps to come up with fun and interesting ways to draw parallels and profoundly understand the topic.read more
