I am a current junior at Duke University majoring in Biology and minoring in Computer Science. I have graduated high school. I have previously served as a math teaching assistant over two summers at ... the reputable AwesomeMath Summer Program. I helped teach middle to high school-aged students introductory combinatorics. I hosted informative office hour sessions and graded problem sets and tests in an expedient manner. I made sure to be cognizant of my student's abilities and did not make my lessons too hard, but also didn't dumb it down too much (i.e. only give hints if necessary after meaningful progress has been observed) in order to foster critical thinking. I can certainly help students with feedback on their college essays. I personally poured many hours into my essays and benefitted from receiving targeted criticism on my essays.
