About
Hello to you!
My name is Sandra, and I suppose the first thing you should know about me personally is that I absolutely love to read and write. Creativity has always just came naturally to me, and my... preferred medium was always through storytelling.
Teaching as a passion started when I was in high school. I was never one to take big risks as a child, but my teachers and friends all encouraged me to take the advanced English class, to follow my passion. So I did, and there I met the most wonderful person, my class teacher, who demonstrated to me just how important kindness, intelligence, and passion was in an instructor. I wondered if I could pass that on to children, to show them the joys of reading and writing, and how valuable it can be to express yourself.
So I pursued a degree in English, hoping to do just that!
Since I graduated, my life has been one exciting event after another. I recently moved from my home in Canada to California, to get married, and that has been incredibly exciting - and now that I am fully settled, I'd love to pursue my initial passion for teaching.
As for who I am on a personal level, well, I suppose you could say I am a bit of a nerd. Video games and anime are some of my biggest passions, as I truly love the unique way stories can be told through these means. I love music as well, both in theory and in practice, and I hope to pursue some kind of lesson in the future. Perhaps piano, or singing!
All in all, I believe self expression to be the most important thing a person can do, and I hope to inspire that in my students through their writing or through reading. Sometimes, the hurdles of not grasping a concept can be incredibly discouraging, and I make it my mission whenever I teach to ease those concepts into practice and make so they are not only understood, but enjoyed, even if only a small amount.read more
