I have been drawing for as long as I can remember, but it became a serious passion for me about 12 years ago. I worked hard enough at it to earn an advance placement straight to Art 3 in high school. ... Then, I was admitted into the Kennesaw State University Honors College, where I studied Game Design and Digital Animation and made the Dean's List multiple times. Today, I specialize in character design, illustration, and tattoo art. I do most of my works digitally with Clip Studio Paint, but my teaching methods are compatible with any software a student might use. I have also taught traditional artists interested in graphite, charcoal, and/or pen. I have a background not just in drawing, but in design as well, as the unique curriculum I took in college gave me the proper training to efficiently use industry standard design programs like Adobe Illustrator. Hi! My name is Natalie Pockett, I am from Georgia, and I have a passion for all things creative! I teach piano, digital composition, and drawing (both digital and traditional), with even more subjects... in the works. My years of experience with each varies, but they're all in the double digits - top of the list is piano at 21 years and counting! I believe building a love for what you learn is the key to learning it. As such, my methods are student-centric and non-traditional - meaning, my planning revolves around my students' interests, and that often means putting the books down for a bit. These methods also encourage students to be who they are! Watching them get really excited about their learning and accomplishments, seeing them express themselves in ways they didn't think they ever could, is priceless. Knowing I was able to bring people that form of happiness is how I knew teaching would be my forever career.
