About
Hi There!
I am Felipe and my experience in education begins about 3 years ago when I started out as a substitute teacher in Fontana, CA. I began going to different schools and was introduced to the m... uch-needed adaptability that is necessary in the education field.
After a few months I was asked to be a resident substitute at Alder Middle School for 6th, 7th, and 8th grade. I was honored to be considered because they only really do this when someone is seen as presumably capable. The job was challenging but I learned so many great things from my time there.
Most of the classes I was given were long term assignments and the teachers I took over for trusted me to create the lesson plans, keep with the pace of the curriculum, and maintain the grade book. The teachers at this school were my mentors and gave me many lessons in what a great educator can do or be.
With that experience I was able to broaden my skill set of lesson planning and structuring a classroom setting. I was recently a language assistant in Madrid, and it has been an exceptional experience. In my time there I was able to examine the differences in education systems and the essence of the learning styles in Spain vs. The US. The students I taught were from grades 4th-6th and I was able to strengthen their English skills, that included grammar lessons, group projects, and conversation practices.
I will look forward to continuing the work I have done and become more knowledgeable of my skillsets as an educator in any role I take on. I hope to hear from you and thank you for taking the time read a bit about me. =)
