I have been programming in C, C++, Java, JavaScript, Python, and HTML/CSS for six years. I graduated from UC Davis where I was a member of BEAR Labs, a robotics and prosthetics lab. While at BEAR Labs... I programmed software for a user study in C#, and connected a robotic hand with a raspberry pi with C++. This earned me a coauthorship on one of their pulications. I spent some time at Carnegie Mellon University Image Science Labs, where I used Python to develop a modified hyperspectral autoencoder which was published as a student paper in the AAAI conference on artificial intellegence. I have spent the last year working at Specere Labs at Purdue University where I served as the lead programmer in a mechanical engineering lab. I helped teach a team of undergraduates, my labmates, and even the professor, Python. Hi! I'm Mira Welner and I am a programming researcher! I enjoy working with code in highly applicable research scenarios. I have worked with a range of coding languages including Python, Java, Javascr... ipt, C, C++, C#, HTML and CSS. I began tutoring at Specere Labs where I was tasked with helping a team of mechanical engineers learn enough python to complete their task. I was able to take a team of four mechancial engineers who knew a little MatLab and not much else, and teach them enough Python to finish a very complex project. I believe that often times, it is assumed that students already know how to do basic programming tasks and use essential programming tools such as Git, and their IDE. I think that it is always important to never assume these things, and actually teach them! When I am not programming I enjoy Muay Thai and Guitar :)read more
