I was born to two musicians, one of which has a whole career as an elementary music teacher and professional gigging bassist. I have been singing my whole life, but I’ve also been playing instruments ... like cello, guitar, piano, and bass since I was a young teen. At age 16 I decided to shift my focus to my voice as my main instrument and really decided to start getting serious about it, joining 3 different choirs at my high school (concert, treble, and jazz). Once I graduated, I moved onto Edmonds College where one of the best collegiate vocal jazz choirs in the nation, ‘Soundsation’, resides, and was a member of that group for 4 years. Last summer I received my AA in Music from Edmonds College and this fall I plan to continue at university with the goal of getting my Masters degree in Music Education with hopes of being a middle, high school, or even college choral director. read more

Hi there! My name’s MacKenzie. I’m currently a college Music Ed student in Washington state with a lifelong passion for not only music & singing itself, but for helping others realize their passion & ... desire for creating music. Having grown up in an extremely musical family, with an instrumentalist/music teacher father, I’ve known from a very young age that music, especially sharing it with others, is my greatest passion. With my AA in Music and my plans to move forward with my bachelors/masters in Music Education, I am able to teach basically anything about general music theory or fundamentals, but my specialty is with voice. However, I still am able to teach beginner guitar or piano lessons. One of my favorite things about tutoring is. unlike teaching a big classroom, with tutoring and private lessons, you really get to connect closely with the individual student and craft your lesson with their specific needs in mind, so it’s much easier to make personalized headway and progress with your student(s). My goal is to teach my own choirs and vocal groups, as well as my own private voice studio for lessons, so I’m super excited and eager to start getting some teaching experience through tutoring any of you guys interested in music or singing!read more
