My name is Jorge and I am a musician from Guatemala who is passionate about self discovery through music. Lately, this has brought me to share the knowledge gained from musical experiences in my life,... all of them very diverse and nourishing. Near 2021, I started delivering music lessons as an independent facilitator (specifically for guitar, being my main instrument). This made me consider structuring a way to share knowledge and activities that can strengthen the mind-body connection to apply it when playing. I have found it important to establish a relationship with the person who learns, to know that music opens multiple possibilities for people and that I want to treat that energy with care as it has been for my own path. My way of teaching involves recognizing the musical aspects of our body before using them to play our instrument, then diving into basic aspects of theory and technique. Repertoire is open and I like learning new music based on what students can propose and that can be useful to learn as well.read more

Lately, this has brought me to share the knowledge gained from musical experiences in my life,... all of them very diverse and nourishing (listening music as a child at home, studying piano basics at the national conservatory, learning guitar at church, forming a rock band at school as a teenager, learning music theory, harmony and jazz basics at the university and private academies, singing/songwriting and producing my own music, teaching guitar and facilitating music workshops for small groups). All of these experiences made me consider structuring a way to share knowledge and activities that can strengthen the mind-body connection to apply it when playing. I am finishing a learning guide in the form of a coloring book that can help people learn guitar while exploring their own creativity.
