I started teaching guitar junior year of high school and grew a passion for teaching ever since. I took guitar lessons starting around the age of 8 and am now 22. I've discovered and played to a varie... ty of genres, my main genres now being metal, hard rock, punk rock, pop punk, classic rock and hair metal, jazz, and blues. I was around the age of 17 when I first started teaching guitar. My first student was 10 years old and he quickly fell in love with the instrument. Over time, I incorporated different ways of teaching which deemed successful. By word of mouth and social media, other people in my area became interested in guitar lessons and reached out. I started teaching students of all age ranges, children under 10 and some adults. I make sure to go over the very basics and fundamentals of music theory before going into any technical guitar material. Once the student is aware of the musical alphabet and other theoretical elements, I usually allow the student to show me a song they'd like to learn. This is just an example of how I go about teaching beginner lessons. Instead of showing a student where to place their fingers for a chord or scale, I like the student to know the nuts and bolts of anything technical. I recently graduated from the University of the Arts as music business student and live in Philly right near Rittenhouse. I'm originally from NY where I was born and raised. When I am not in Philly, I... 'm back in Poughkeepsie, NY where I hang out with my family including my big dog and little, chubby orange cat. I just joined a pop punk/alternative band called Act Sorry where I play rhythm guitar. Although I graduated, I've met lots of incredibly talented artists and musicians from UArts who started projects with me. We are writing and hope to record and release music at some point this year. At the moment, I'm seeking full time employment in the music industry. Beyond the job hunt and playing music, I love working out and getting a good pump in the gym. Fitness has become a very important part of my life since I'm always needing to carry heavy music equipment and go crazy on stage. I also just love staying active.
