Without music, life would Bb! I have been playing the flute and piccolo for the past 14 years and I am currently studying Flute Performance at Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah. I am the Princip... al Flute in the BYU Philharmonic Orchestra and I have also performed with the BYU Symphonic band and Symphony Orchestra. I am currently the BYU ambassador for the Utah Flute Association. I have been teaching flute lessons for the past 4 years and I am well versed in classical and modern flute repertoire. I have won various competitions such as the 2019 Utah Flute Association Annual Competition and the 2022 BYU Concerto Competition, where I performed the Gordon Jacob Concerto with the BYU Symphony Orchestra. I also recently received an Honorable Mention for the Minerva Teichert Women’s competition. I have taught a wide range of students from early Elementary school to late High School, including those with disabilities. Hello! I'm Jillian and I grew up in Southern California and I am currently studying Flute Performance at Brigham Young University. I chose to play the flute because of my oldest brother, Jonathan, als... o played and I wanted to be like him and now I have been playing the flute for almost 14 years and I absolutely love it! Along with music, I also love surfing, reading, hiking, singing, and spending time with my husband and family. I have been teaching flute lessons for the past 4 years and I love sharing my passion for music with others. I teach beginner to advanced students and I have also taught individuals with disabilities. I truly believe that everyone has the potential to create beautiful music, and I'm excited to share the knowledge and skills that I have developed with you! I love teaching music and getting to see others make progress. One of my biggest joys in life is helping others to improve and fulfill their potential and have a greater sense of purpose in life.
