About
Hi! My name is Elijah, but I usually go by Eli. I grew up actively involved and deeply enamored with the performing arts. I participated in theatre from elementary school to my college years, with the... roles of the Baker in “Into the Woods” and Cliff in “Cabaret” standing out fondly in my memory. I have participated in theatre as both actor and director, and it made for a period of time I am quite proud of looking back on.
What I love more than anything is a good story, whether it’s told on a screen or on a page. However, my favorite way to enjoy a story has always been through video games. Being able to live through a story as the protagonist, instead of a mere spectator, has been my hobby of choice since I was small enough to sit in my parent’s lap as they showed me how to use a controller for the very first time.
It was this love of fiction that inspired me to begin my career in education. The opportunity to pass on my knowledge of storytelling is, to me, a great honor and well worth my time. My tutoring philosophy is reflected by my passion for fiction: that one must learn the rules before they can break them. In order to use language to create quality writing of your own, you must first pursue a masterful comprehension of literary composition. I am eager to share all that I know, and that my students pursue improvement with each and every lesson.read more
