I began teaching electric guitar in 2013 at the School of Rock in Vienna, Virginia. This was my first experience teaching, and after about 6-8 months I really began to create my own style of teaching.... By then, my schedule was full, as my motto for each lesson was to laugh and learn, and I think the student's comfort with the instructor is key to developing musical skills. I stayed with the School of Rock until early 2020, and I went back to finish my bachelor's degree in 2020 and completed it in 2021 online. I began a master's degree program at Berklee College of Music Online, and I am currently scheduled to graduate in the summer of 2024. My skills essentially allow me to address the intricacies of music theory and knowledge to the student in a tailored way. In other words, I like to find out where the student currently is in terms of music knowledge, and build from there, one lesson at a time. I live in the Washington DC area, in Arlington Virginia. It's my hometown, and I really like the area. There are so many great musicians in the area, and I am blessed to be able to perform with them o... n a regular basis. Many of them are online instructors, so they have encouraged me to explore teaching on this platform. I love working out and spending time in nature, and I actually really like my graduate studies at the Berklee College of Music online. I'm working on a music business degree. I like sharing the knowledge I have acquired from my many years in the music industry, whether that's the specifics of the guitar, or how the guitar works, and I love talking about the history of great guitar players and musicians in general. I believe the interactive nature of a one-on-one lesson can really help the student achieve their goals, and I think good listening by my behavior plays a key role in the students developing the skills they desire.
