About
Hi! My name is Ria and I am a fourth-year medical student at Kansas City University. During my preclinical years, I really enjoyed studying human anatomy, osteology, and physiology such that I am exci... ted to tutor in any of these subjects. I helped my brother successfully complete his Master's coursework in these subjects which rekindled my passion for teaching.
In college, I served as a supplemental instruction leader for biochemistry, where I frequently tutored students. My tutoring philosophy centers on empowering my students with the personalized skills they need to succeed in their courses. Additionally, I strive to make learning enjoyable by tailoring sessions to my student's interests and using references from fields they are passionate about to help with information retention. I believe for foundational subjects like anatomy, and physiology, it is important to have a thorough understanding of the subject which results from actively engaging with the material.
Outside of academics, I enjoy dancing, baking—especially chocolate orange cake—and exploring different kinds of coffee. Recently, I've discovered a love for tennis and find myself improving with each practice game.
Feel free to reach out if you have any specific questions, and I look forward to working with you!read more
