With a PhD in Materials Science & Engineering specializing in Polymers from Michigan State University and a B.S. with High Honors in Materials Science and Engineering from Rutgers University, I possess a strong foundation in research methodologies, experimental design, and data analysis.
Throughout my academic and professional journey, I have been involved in designing and executing research studies, both in laboratory settings and industrial environments. As a Graduate Research Assistant at Michigan State University, I developed and implemented research protocols for thermal recycling of bioplastics and reactive extrusion of biobased polymers, including pilot-scale experimentation and data collection.
My work experience at Becton Dickinson (BD) further enhanced my skills in research design, where I contributed to projects involving materials data analysis, sustainability assessments, and product performance evaluations. I have experience in formulating research questions, defining objectives, selecting appropriate methodologies, designing experiments, and ensuring data validity and reliability.
Additionally, I have a solid understanding of statistical techniques, data interpretation methods, and result reporting, which are essential components of research design. I can guide students in selecting the right research design for their projects, developing hypotheses, choosing variables, designing experiments or surveys, and analyzing data using appropriate statistical tools.
Furthermore, I stay updated with current trends and best practices in research design through continuous learning and professional development. I am familiar with various research paradigms, including quantitative, qualitative, and mixed-methods approaches, allowing me to tailor tutoring sessions to meet the specific needs and interests of students.
