Software Engineer II

As a Software Engineer II, my role went beyond mere coding. It was about crafting a complex system, much like building the intricate worlds and mechanics of a game. Each piece of code was a puzzle piece, essential to the larger picture, mirroring how game development involves fitting together various elements – from AI to level design – to create a cohesive and engaging experience. This understanding of complex, interlocking systems is a fundamental skill I bring to game development teaching. From the moment I first delved into game development, it's been a journey of passion and discovery. My high school days were filled with not just A's in computer science, but also countless hours exploring and creating virtual worlds, much like an author crafting a compelling narrative. My independent game development experience is, I believe, a testament to my love and dedication to games. Publishing games on Steam, Google PlayStore, and Apple’s AppStore is an exhilarating and exciting experience each and every time. I've navigated complex game mechanics, AI, and modular design to make polished experiences for my players. Learning game development can be a daunting task – but the reward is absolutely exhilarating and rewarding. My own journey through the realms of game design and coding has equipped me with the tools and know-how to streamline and guide both newcomers and more experienced devs. With a background that spans technical expertise and real-world application, I guide you not just through the technicalities of game development but through its artistry as well. Let's embark on this journey together and unlock the magic of creating games.

As a Computer Engineering undergraduate at the University of Connecticut, my academic path has been enriched by a diverse programming portfolio, spanning languages like Java, C, Python, and more. Among these, my self-taught journey in C# and Unity development stands out as a testament to my passion and dedication to mastering the art of game development. From my early days of programming, I explored various languages, each offering unique insights and challenges. This exploration laid a solid foundation for my understanding of core programming principles. However, it was my venture into C# and Unity that marked a pivotal point in my journey. Driven by a deep interest in game development, I dove into C# and Unity on my own, embracing the challenge of learning through experimentation and self-study. My self-guided exploration into C# was more than just learning a new language; it was about understanding how to bring game concepts to life with efficiency and creativity. Unity, with its robust toolkit and versatile capabilities, provided the perfect platform for applying my C# skills. It was here that I truly grasped the importance of performance optimization and seamless functionality in game development. In Unity's dynamic environment, I found my true calling. I learned to balance complex game mechanics with high-performance demands, an essential skill for any aspiring game developer. My experience with Unity has not only honed my technical abilities but also enhanced my creative problem-solving skills, enabling me to transform challenging concepts into engaging gameplay experiences. While C# and Unity development hold a special place in my programming repertoire, my diverse background across multiple languages and platforms remains a key strength. This breadth of knowledge allows me to approach game development with a holistic perspective, understanding how different technologies can be integrated to create more compelling and efficient solutions.
