English Writing, Grammar, and Literature Tutor

I have always had a love for writing which is why I decided to study English during my time at Dixie State/Utah Tech University located in St. George, UT. I will be graduating this December, of 2023, with a Bachelor of Science in English and an emphasis in Professional and Technical Writing. During my time at Utah Tech, I have worked at the Writing Center where I have helped high school students, undergraduate students, and students within the master's program improve their writing. I have also been a tutor at TechieForLife, a program for neurodivergent young adults. Currently, I am tutoring English to students of all ages that have dyslexia, and struggle with writing. I have been an editor for the Dixie Sun News, now the Sun News Daily at Utah Tech University, and I have been on the editing team for a creative writing Journal, the Route 7 Review, and an academic journal, Curiosity. I have published an instruction manual website with iFixit and have written memos, proposals, etc. in business writing. I am also a member of the Quill and Scroll with the University of Iowa. I have lots of experience in not only Professional and Technical writing, but journalism as well. Along with my love for writing also comes a love for helping others. Tutoring in English has given me the ability to use my writing skills and help others succeed in their classes so that they can understand linguistics, literature, grammar and more! I would love to continue to help others by sharing my knowledge and I would love to watch them accomplish their own challenges and goals!

Enhanced Honors Bachelor's student in Psychology, proficient in English, Writing and Grammar

I have always been avid in english and grammar, a passion ignited in me since before elementary school. Following that passion, throughout grade school, I have consistently competed in literary anthology competitions, ranging from poetry, non-fiction, fiction and more. I had the honor to place in all the categories I entered within those competitions. Through middle and high school, my proficiency in academic writing and grammar became not useful to only me, but the peers around me. Teachers then were able to distinguish my voice and distinct skills, furthering my passions for my craft. I have even tutored children in these subjects, as I myself was still in High School. In high school, I was editor of our yearbook that gained recognition in my region. I have published work such as articles and reports found in the yearbook. I did this for three, amazing years. Furthering my writing sphere, I was also a ghostwriter for two years, working with a publishing company that produced a plethora of imaginative projects full of meaningful emotion and connection. Even to this day, I help and edit my peer's essays, I figured, I could help so many more people too. I would love to help you find your writer's voice and become confident in english and writing skills! My goal is to assist students, not only academic writing, english and grammar, but to foster confidence and accomplishments in their future endeavors.

MA in Creative Writing from Ivy League Institution, Published Author

I have enjoyed writing ever since I was a child, and although I held a knack for science and majored in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology in undergrad, my creative bent and love for writing drove me to go on and obtain a Master's degree in Creative Writing from Dartmouth College. A highlight of my time in grad school was the creative writing summer intensive at Oxford University Exeter College that I was selected to attend. Since then I've published a fiction novel entitled /Call of the Song Sparrow/, and I've had some of my poetry published in journals/anthologies. I truly enjoy the proofreading and editing process that goes in to fine-tuning a finished work--whether it be an essay, a report, creative writing, or some other form of written work. During grad school, I worked as co-editor for the MALS Quarterly Journal, assisting those who had pieces selected for publication in editing and re-working their pieces so that they were publication-ready. Additionally, I have assisted other authors in the editing and revision processes for their books and short stories prior to publication. I have always enjoyed working with students; during an undergrad exchange program at Spelman College, I volunteered in a fourth grade classroom at M. Agnes Jones Elementary as a student aide twice a week. Working alongside the students, helping them understand concepts in science was not only rewarding, but also a growth opportunity for me that allowed me to learn how best to present potentially "boring" information in a fun, comprehensible way that young minds could most readily grasp.
