Christian Mentor

During my undergraduate career, I began studying the Bible to develop my relationship with the Lord as I sought solace in a spiritual storm. As the stories from scripture unfolded, so did the live-action adventures. Indeed, the text jumped off the pages, undoubtedly highlighting the accuracy of God's word being "alive and active" in Hebrews 4:12. As my yearning to study grew, I pursued other opportunities to share the incredible knowledge within the pages of the Bible. I've had the pleasure of working with various school populations as an Adult Tutor, Student Services Support Specialist, Success Coach, and Teaching Assistant. Each of these positions had unique responsibilities, but all with the primary purpose of enhancing students' academic experience. I've always been passionate about Education, especially due to the reading, writing, and studying aspects of the field. So, during my faithful walk with God, I've mustered up the courage to share this love with others as I began writing a Guided Journal. "The ABCs of Believing Bettys" is a text that anyone can use as a tool to build their faith while building on the foundation of God's Word. This was surely one of the contributing reasons I founded a women's ministry, Believing Bettys, to encourage women to spread the truth of the Gospel. My elaborate experience will definitely help make an impact within the Lessonpal community. I thrive at developing individualized reading and lesson plans, worksheets, and study guides. Students will experience a unique academic experience and fulfill their learning goals while still effectively growing through the knowledge of God's word. I genuinely love helping others, and studying the Bible is key to transforming lives with undeniable truth. With almost a decade of active and diligent bible study, building community, and cultivating student success environments, I am reassured that students will dive into this enthusiastic take on a bible study.

Trevan Powell
Forestbrook, SC

College Student, Bible Teacher, English Teacher, Baseball Instructor

I believe that Bible Studies is the most important subject for children, teens, and adults to study. The material in Bible Studies shapes and forms the life and beliefs of people who study the subject. It is the one subject that has an everlasting impact on one's life. The reason why I believe students should choose me as their tutor is because of my strong desire to study the Bible. I am in love with studying the Bible because it withholds everything about my Lord and Savior and also all the things I need to live a godly life. The unique aspect of Bible Studies is the fact that it never ends because it is deeply deeply deeply rich. I have begun my own Bible Studies with my enrollment at The Master's University Online in pursuit to receive a Bachelor's Degree in Biblical Studies. Outside of my university studies, I was a part of a 9-month missions internship in the Dominican Republic. My responsibilities during that internship consisted of teaching English to 2nd and 4th grades, leading a VBS program, and helping with construction projects. When I returned back to the states, I began an internship with my local church, which I am still a part of today. During this internship I have been blessed to lead VBS, teach Children's Ministry, teach Youth Ministry, present missionaries to the congression, and lead a small group Bible study. I have a strong desire to study the Bible, and also help others in studying the Bible as well. It is the greatest textbook in all education and everyone should study all the riches that it withholds.

Tony Amoury Alkhoury
New York, NY

Theologian, Educational Specialist, Arabic Teacher, Youth Leader, Ivy League Alum

My enthusiasm for teaching Bible Studies and theology is deeply ingrained in me, stemming from a rich Christian heritage in Syria and enriched by my interactions across varied Christian congregations. My journey in faith began in my childhood and was significantly deepened through personal experiences and challenges, especially during Syria's conflict. This led me to commit fully to ministry and education as a way to help others find meaning and hope. I pursued advanced theological education, overcoming language barriers to study at prestigious institutions like Harvard Divinity School, where I was recognized for my excellence in teaching. My teaching approach is practical and grounded in real-world applications, influenced by my early career as a clinical pharmacist and my academic focus on practical theology. This has helped me develop a teaching style that is accessible, relevant, and deeply rooted in a compassionate understanding of the challenges people face. I bring to Bible Studies a unique perspective that blends good biblical scholarship, traditional Christian teachings, with insights from my journey through war and peace, aiming to create a learning environment that is both enriching and supportive. My goal is to empower students by connecting biblical teachings with their personal experiences, helping them navigate their faith and make meaning in today's world. I have an MDiv (Master of Divinity) from Harvard University and a ThM in Practical Theology from Fuller Theological Seminary where I also work as a Christian Digital Education Specialist. I am working on my PhD in Practical Theology at Union Theological Seminary in the City of New York (with an affiliation to Columbia University).

Experienced (30+ years) Multiple Subjects Tutor/Teacher/Faculty With Multicultural Backgrounds

I strongly believe that students should choose me as their Bible Studies tutor because I was born and raised in the teachings of the Bible and of the Church. Every day, I was taught Bible lessons thanks to my parents and the churches where we belonged and were leading. If my memory does not fail me, I think at 11 years old I was already a Sunday School teacher. At 14 I became an assistant pastor, preaching, teaching, and conducting Bible Studies weekly. That would continue until my senior year in high school. After high school, I moved to a different geographical location to start studying theology. Every break, I would go back to my original location to resume my practice, on a pure voluntary basis. I spent only one (1) year in that theological school. I was not totally satisfied with what I was getting during that one year. Then, in my quest for a better and higher education, I was fortunate to be able to travel to France to continue my Bible and theological studies in one of the most prestigious Christian faculties in Europe. That school was and is still known for its highly rigorous, intellectual, spiritual, religious, and academic teachings. Thanks to God, my parents, and all the people who were praying for and supporting me, I had the privilege to graduate with a master's degree, bestowed upon me with mention "Summa Cum Laude". During all those five (5) years, I found opportunities to tutor students and teach Bible Studies in the area churches, and on a regular basis when I was so eager and able to travel back and forth to my country of origin, on school breaks. Since 1992, as former adjunct and now faculty at the Christian University of Northern Haiti (W.I.), I have been dedicating myself to the teaching of Bible Studies and Theology with undivided attention to and profound respect for the students and the people.
