Hello,
My name is Aiyana Braun, and I'm a Composer, Pianist, and Educator. My music has been performed by the New York Philharmonic, New York Youth Symphony, St. Louis Symphony Orchestra, Berkeley Sy... mphony, and musicians from the Philadelphia Orchestra, Boston Symphony, Santa Cecilia Orchestra (Italy), New York City Ballet Orchestra, Houston Symphony, Buffalo Philharmonic, among others.
I have been fortunate to have won awards or residencies from the ASCAP Foundation, BMI Foundation, American Composers Forum, NYU Center for Ballet and the Arts, Copland House, and have been featured on NPR's "From the Top," PBS's "On Stage at Curtis," and I Care if You Listen.TV.
I'm currently an Adjunct Professor at Westminster Choir College at Rider University where I teach a Graduate Course in Theory and Undergraduate courses in Theory, Keyboard Harmony, and Musicianship. Prior to this I worked as a Lecturer at California State University, Fullerton where I taught and designed courses in Composition, Orchestration, Music Theory, and Ear Training. I've also taught Composition and Music Theory in the New York Philharmonic's "Very Young Composers Program, Ear Training and Music Theory as a Teaching Assistant at the University of Southern California, and was on Faculty teaching Music Theory, and Music History to 14 - 21 year old students at the Curtis Institute of Music's "Summerfest."
I have my M.M. in Music Composition from the University of Southern California, B.M. in Music Composition from the Curtis Institute of Music, and I was a Composition Major in The Juilliard School's Pre-College Division for four years. I've studied with Pulitzer Prize and Grammy Award Winning Composer Jennifer Higdon, The Juilliard School's Dean of Music David Ludwig, Grammy Winner and Pulitzer Finalist Ted Hearne.read more
