  • Brian is a very thoughtful communicator and works hard to understand where I am coming from. The idea of learning to identify what you hear (either rhythm, pitch, or both) before you worry about reading music that is already written turns the tables on your typical sight-reading class. It is actually fun and I think a large variety of students and musical backgrounds will find success with his approach.
