I have been tutoring my peers and students in Chemistry since I was a high school student myself. I continued my education at Appalachian State University in Boone, NC to gain my Bachelor of Science i... n Chemistry. I began there by becoming a student teacher for introductory chemistry courses where I was able to host afternoon lectures for an entire class of chem students at App State. I accepted a position at High Country Academy later in my schooling years and was able to become their foremost tutor for AP Chemistry and Biology courses, as well as for SAT and ACT science preparation. Since my time in Boone, I have become a private tutor for middle, high school, and college students who are learning chemistry and related sciences. Learning is a passion of mine and helping students learn and study is one of my favorite things to do. I believe that you do have to *learn* how to learn, and learning how to study effectively is very important but also very tough. However, mastering those skills is so rewarding for a student and can completely change their view on school itself. Hello! I'm Hannah, and I'm from Charlotte, NC and the surrounding area. My family has always lived in Denver, NC (or Denver of the East, as the natives love to call it). I went to school at Appalachia... n State University in Boone, NC to be closer to the mountains and to find some colder weather. I spend my free time hiking, mountain biking, or climbing. Anything to get a little dirt on my hands, really. I am a nature enthusiast, and I just live for the fresh air. I discovered my love for tutoring and teaching at a pretty young age. I was always the older sister who forced her younger brothers to sit on the floor at their "desks" and would give them endless math problems, no matter how much they hated it. It was in high school that I was able to have my first opportunity at tutoring others, and it became my job in college. Since college, I haven't been able to give it up, as I just love how rewarding the experience is for me and for my students. I believe that good students do have to learn how to study and learn how to learn. I strive to instill confidence and determination in my students and teach them the best ways to help themselves succeed. I have a big passion for chemistry and love to help others find joy in the subject as well. It's a tough subject, no doubt about it, but it can be mastered and there is joy there for everyone. If you are able to relate it to your real life, you begin to see how applicable it is for everyone and you begin to truly realize how things work, and why they work.
