Hello! My name is Nina and I am a senior at Nazareth University in Rochester, NY. I have always been passionate about helping people learn about the college application process, filling out the FAFSA,... and how to apply for scholarships. I am a first generation student and I remember learning how to do this stressful process with little resources as a high school student, and I want to ease some of this anxiety for other people looking to improve their education. I am a music therapy student, so I also have experience with the vocal audition and interview process for music school. As a current college student, I have the ability to put myself in your shoes because I have recently experienced the difficult dynamic of applying to college. I have experience educating others about college access through my undergraduate years through on-campus jobs. In these jobs, I have worked with high school students, adults who are going back to school after many years, and adults who are applying for the first time. I hope to provide a space to learn about the important steps in applying to college, how to find scholarships and other financial aid, as well as educating about the different things to look for when choosing a college.read more

Hi! I'm Nina and I am a rising senior at Nazareth University in Rochester, NY. I am a music therapy major (vocal primary) with a minor in interfaith studies. Although I go to school in NY, I am origin... ally from the Poconos, PA. Since being in college, I have developed a deep passion for helping others access education, despite their background. In all areas of my life, I hope to give a compassionate, empathetic, and understanding view to my students. I have worked with young children, high school and college students, and adults. I am an eldest sister of 5 siblings, so I have a lot of experience helping them with school work, which is where this passion stemmed from. I have been a college mentor for incoming freshmen, a tutor for music therapy and religious studies courses, and a tutor for English, grammar, and writing for children and adults since my sophomore year of college. As someone who is still currently a student, I understand the struggles of juggling responsibilities of education and life. I hope to bring my own experience of academic stress and success to relate with all of my tutorees. Outside of tutoring, I love to travel and study abroad. This has given me wonderful opportunities to connect with other people across cultural experiences. In my time at college, I have traveled to Austria, Cambodia, Germany, and Poland. On these trips, I have learned about engaging with people of all walks of life and how to be a compassionate human being.
