Hello! I am a Music Instructor from Salem Oregon. After moving to the area three years ago, I came into contact with an important local business, River City Rockstar Academy.
Seeing their activity i... n the community with "Rock Camp" programs, free concerts throughout the year, and amazing community organized events such as "Make Music Day" reignited my zeal to play music. When a spot opened up to begin instruction I decided to throw my hat in the ring in an effort to increase my dedication to playing my instrument.
After 2 years of instructing students in Guitar, Bass, and Drums, I have decided to begin offering my services online to expand my opportunities. I teach students of all ages and enjoy witnessing each individual journey for students. I incorporate the use of a website called soundslice heavily to get students tablature. This is a free tool for anyone to use.
My teaching style is tailored to fit each students needs as much as possible. I find a great way to get any student more dedicated to their instrument is to simply try to learn your favorite song. In some cases we have to break it down to be played a little more simply. From there we can learn the music theory concepts behind the song, and apply that to our future playing and learning.
There is no one size fits all to learning music. Some people want to become the next Jimmy Page, and others just want to strum some chords and sing. I can help you learn to do either, and I will love teaching someone something simple just as much as something complex.
