Music has always been a driving force in my life and my number one passion. I have played piano since I was 10 years old, and I took 15 years of lessons including several semesters of college-level pi... ano courses. I hold a Bachelor’s degree in worship leadership with an emphasis in Voice, and have been singing and taking voice lessons since I was a child. My singing experience also includes both choir and solo performances. I’ve acted in several community theatre musical productions, with roles including Tracy Turnblad in Hairspray and Little Red Riding Hood in Into the Woods. Hi, I’m Emily! Originally from Mississippi, I graduated from Blue Mountain Christian University in 2016 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Worship Leadership, and an emphasis in Vocal Performance. I now live... in East Texas with my husband, two rambunctious children, and a giant Aussie German shepherd. I started teaching piano and voice online in 2020 and have gained quite a bit of knowledge about teaching online over the past few years. I love helping my students gain confidence and access to resources that we might not have with in person lessons! Online voice and piano lessons, I’ve found, tend to work really well for those who have stage fright or performance jitters—something that I struggle with myself even with all my years of performing. In addition to voice and piano, I am also passionate about music theory, musical theatre, and music history! I also offer tutoring sessions in those subjects as needed. When I’m not teaching or chasing after my two kiddos, I also enjoy reading (especially cozy mysteries and rom coms!), crocheting, and baking.
