At a young age I became fascinated with the mythology of ancient cultures, which eventually morphed into a love of history thanks to one exceptional teacher. Ever since then, my goal has been to teach... history to Middle and High Schoolers to get them to love the way that I have learned to love it. I have a Bachelors Degree in history, and spent my last year of college focusing on the evolution of food and cooking styles in America, but what really got me interested into studying history was the evolution of arms and armor from the European Medieval period. I took classes on the general histories like US, World, and Asian history, but I also took specialized classes like Civil War History, and Witchcraft and Religion in the Middle Ages. I also have developed the research skills necessary to fill in the blanks if need be, and help any students learn to research and write academic papers. Hi, I'm Elijah. I was born in Texas, but moved around a lot, living in North Carolina, Washington, Virginia, and Germany. I received my BA in history from Concordia University Texas. I firmly believe... that if you don't study history, then you're doomed to repeat it. No matter what field you plan to join, studying history is vital to understanding modern society, even if the only history you study is of that field. I believe that most students who hate history just have had a teacher that was able to teach in the correct way for that student, and I was one of those students for most of my life. It wasn't until my first year of college that I had a professor finally get me to love the subject, and my goal is to do that for as many students as I can. I plan to go on to get my teaching certificate and teach history to middle or high school students once I've settled down. Until then, I can help students learn by assisting them with learning and understanding material they've been given from schools, and assisting with research and essays.
