I have been a teacher for the last 30 years. More specifically, I work with students to look at the "big picture" in school. This includes making sure my students complete and have a thorough understa... nding of their work, but I understand the importance of teaching students the importance of academic performance. I have been a teacher, professor, and administrator in alternative and comprehensive education for nearly three decades. During my tenure, I has worked with the most vulnerable students in Orange Coun... ty, including security risk, maximum security students, and students with emotional and physical disabilities. Also, I have taught AP students and students with disabilities at the comprehensive schools. My teaching experience goes beyond k-12 to include being a professor at both the community college and university level. In addition to my teaching, I have been a Coordinator at the community college level, and I was the Associate Director at my local university. In my spare time, I have authored several books and journal articles that address maximizing teaching and learning. My areas of interest are the efficacy of education, specifying on the social, cognitive, and cultural influences that influence education.
