I've studied various types of literature since my freshman year of high school (i.e. novels, short stories, poetry, etc.). Thus, I know the intricacies of how they are generally structured and how to ... analyze their themes, characters, figurative devices, etc. I've analyzed written works such as F. Scott Fitzgerald's novel The Great Gatsby, William Shakespeare's play A Midsummer Night's Dream, and Audre Lorde's poem "Power". I'm currently an English major (3.6 GPA) in which I continuously read, annotate, and analyze literature. Nice to meet you. I'm Ashley, a rising college senior with an English major and creative writing minor who's pursuing a bachelor's degree. I'm proudly a student at the Virginia Commonwealth University... in Richmond, VA. I've peer tutored my classmates since my freshman year of high school in literature, and I did the same regarding creative writing since my junior year of high school. What I enjoy about tutoring both subjects is seeing fellow students progress and share what they learned with me. Not everyone learns the same way, and thus, I plan to work with students in order to discover a tutoring method that is effective and comfortable for them.
